First the Fame, Next the Name: Jim Hendry Street Signs To Bid Adieu

Former Cubs GM Jim Hendry is the latest in the list of men who can list the pitfalls of fame, especially now that the honorary "Jim Hendry Way" street signs conferred to him are being removed.
Now that Chicago Cubs have fired him, his hometown Park Ridge is wasting no time in giving the "honorary" street signs the boot as well. The pair of street signs is placed along the Northwest Highway at Touhy.
Reportedly, put up by the Former Governor Rob Blagojevich, the current mayor alleges that these "street signs were put up without the city hall's permission". "We never wanted them up in the first place," says Mayor David Schmidt. "Now that Blagojevich is gone and so is Hendry — at least from the Cubs — it seems like this would be a good time to ask for the street signs to be removed."
